I only wanted to remove the finish material and take the frets down ever so slightly. (The neck came with jumbo frets but since I knew that I would have to do some sort of fret dressing to remove the finish I figured I could remove some fret material and get frets that were more medium-jumbo in height. At least that was the plan.)
